We produce a limited run of only 30 custom boards per month to ensure that every surfboard meets our quality standards.

If you are based in the Bahia de Banderas area—including Puerto Vallarta, Punta Mita, San Pancho, or Bucerías—we invite you to our Sayulita factory for a private tour and design session. Not local? No problem. We offer virtual shape consultations to dial in your specs from anywhere in the world.

    I had a fish custom-shaped by Mainland Surfboards (5’2 x 19 3/4 x 2 5/16, 27.46L), and I’m really happy with how it turned out. The whole process started because the airline wanted to charge me €800 roundtrip to bring a board from Europe to Mexico. So I looked into local shapers and found Mainland. From the beginning, everything felt easy and well-organized. Javier even took the time to jump on a Zoom call with me to go through the details of the shape, which I really appreciated. Six weeks later, I picked up the board on the first day of my trip and was able to surf it right away. I’ve now ridden it in a range of conditions and wave sizes, and it performs really well across the board. It paddles easily, catches waves without effort, and feels super responsive and fast once you’re up and riding. The foam distribution seems very well balanced. I’ve been surfing for over 30 years and have ridden boards from brands like Merrick, DHD, Pukas, Simon Anderson, and Pyzel. This one definitely holds its own in terms of both craftsmanship and performance. Overall, I can highly recommend Mainland Surfboards. Great experience from start to finish, and a board that really delivers in the water.
